I'm Nicole Cameron, the artist behind Art Cosmetic Tattooing, and I've spent more than ten years specialising equally in brows, lips and eyeliner right here in the Illawarra. Cosmetic tattooing has proven far more challenging, and far more rewarding, than I ever expected, and I'm grateful to do this work every day. 


My training spans Sydney, the Gold Coast and Melbourne in facial symmetry, mapping and colour theory, plus two advanced training trips to the USA studying under internationally acclaimed Permanent Makeup Artists. In 2025 I won Outstanding Brows at the Illawarra Small Business Awards, which I still think says more about the loyal, largely referral based clients I've built over the past decade than it does about me.

How to get rid of old tattoo with cosmetic tattoo?

Honestly, cosmetic tattooing itself doesn't remove an existing tattoo, that's a job for laser tattoo removal. If you're dealing with old or faded permanent makeup from elsewhere, though, I can sometimes work with it through careful colour correction, but every case is different. It's worth coming in for a consultation so I can have a proper look and tell you what's realistic.

How long does cosmetic tattoo last?

In my experience, results typically stay soft and vibrant anywhere from around six months out to two years, depending on your skin type and how much sun exposure you get. That's why I build a colour refresh into every treatment plan, at six months and again between twelve months and two years, so your results keep looking fresh rather than fading unevenly.

How much does cosmetic tattoo eyeliner cost? 

My Velvet liner styles start from $800, depending on which style suits your eye shape, from a subtle lash enhancement through to a bolder, fully defined liner. I'll talk you through the right option and confirm exact pricing at your consultation.

How long does cosmetic tattoo take to heal?

Healing takes a few weeks in total. The colour looks darker and crisper straight after your appointment, then between days three and fourteen you'll notice some flaking, which is completely normal. By around weeks four to six your true colour settles in, which is exactly when I schedule your complimentary follow up to check everything and fine tune if needed.

How long does cosmetic tattoo eyeliner last?

My Velvet liner styles generally last anywhere from six months to two years, similar to my other treatments, though this depends a bit on your skin and lifestyle. I offer colour refresh options along the way so your liner stays crisp rather than fading out unevenly.
